Al Quran Juz 19 – A Simple and Easy Explanation

Juz 19 (Para 19) of the Holy Quran begins from Surah Al-Furqan (verse 21) and continues through Surah Ash-Shu’ara and into Surah An-Naml (up to verse 55). This Juz covers the truth of the Quran, stories of several prophets, and Allah’s powerful signs in the universe.

Surah Al-Furqan (Verses 21–77)

   • Allah reminded them that many nations before also denied prophets and were destroyed.

   • Allah explained it came step by step for better understanding and strength.

“We have sent it down in stages, so that We may strengthen your heart.” (25:32)

3. Qualities of ‘Ibad-ur-Rahman’ (Servants of the Most Merciful)
   • Walk humbly
   • Respond peacefully to the ignorant
   • Pray at night
   • Avoid pride, murder, and zina (fornication)
   • Are patient, sincere, and make du’a

“And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth humbly…” (25:63)

Surah Ash-Shu’ara (Verses 1–227)

Surah Ash-Shu’ara means “The Poets”. It highlights the stories of several prophets and how truth faced rejection, but Allah always supported His messengers.

Stories of the Prophets:

1. Musa (A.S.) and Pharaoh
   • Musa invited Pharaoh to the truth.
   • Pharaoh rejected and was drowned.
   • Lesson: Tyranny never wins.
2. Ibrahim (A.S.)
   • He challenged idol worshippers and called to pure Tawheed (Oneness of Allah).
3. Nuh (A.S.)
   • His people denied him, and a great flood destroyed them.
4. Hud (A.S.), Salih (A.S.), Lut (A.S.), and Shu’ayb (A.S.)
   • All faced rejection from proud nations.
   • Each nation was punished after repeated warnings.
5. The Quran Is Not Poetry
   • Allah responded to the claim that the Quran is poetry.
   • Poets may exaggerate, but the Quran is full of truth, guidance, and wisdom.

“And indeed, it is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.” (26:192)

Surah An-Naml (Verses 1–55)

Surah An-Naml means “The Ant”. It includes unique stories showing Allah’s signs in nature and the wisdom of His prophets.

Highlights:

1. Story of Musa (A.S.)
   • Allah spoke to Musa from the burning bush.
   • He showed miracles to Pharaoh, who still rejected the truth.
2. Story of Sulaiman (A.S.) and the Ant
   • Sulaiman (A.S.) could understand animals.
   • An ant warned its colony about Sulaiman’s army, and he smiled humbly.

“…an ant said: ‘O ants, enter your dwellings…’ So he (Sulaiman) smiled with amusement at her words…” (27:18-19)

3. Queen of Sheba (Bilqis)
   • Sulaiman invited her to Islam.
   • She accepted the truth after seeing Sulaiman’s character and power.
4. People of Lut (A.S.)
   • They were involved in sinful behavior.
   • Despite warnings, they continued, and Allah’s punishment came.
