Al Quran Juz 18 – A Simple and Easy Explanation
Juz 18 (Para 18) of the Holy Quran starts from Surah Al-Mu’minun (verse 1) and ends at Surah Al-Furqan (verse 20). This Juz includes three Surahs:
- Surah Al-Mu’minun (The Believers)
- Surah An-Nur (The Light)
- Part of Surah Al-Furqan (The Criterion)
This Juz focuses on the qualities of true believers, rules for a pure and moral society, and the importance of the Quran as a guide and light.
Surah Al-Mu’minun (Verses 1–118)

Surah An-Nur (Verses 1–64)
Surah An-Nur focuses on modesty, family rules, justice, and social values. It aims to build a clean and respectful society.
Key Teachings:
- Punishment for False Accusation (Qadhf)
- Those who falsely accuse chaste women without evidence will be punished with 80 lashes and their testimony rejected.
- The Story of Aisha (R.A.)
- She was wrongly accused. Allah declared her innocent in this Surah.
- The story teaches us not to spread rumors and to verify facts.
- Rules of Modesty
- Both men and women must lower their gaze and guard their modesty.
- Women should wear a hijab (head covering) and dress modestly.
- Entering Homes & Privacy
- Ask permission before entering someone’s home.
- Respect people’s privacy and dignity.
- Light of Allah “Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth…” (24:35)
A famous verse describing how faith shines in the heart of a believer. - Marriage and Morality
- Encourages marriage for single people.
- Strongly discourages adultery and indecency in society.
- Obedience to the Prophet ﷺ
- A true believer follows Allah and His Messenger in all matters.
Surah Al-Furqan (Verses 1–20)
Surah Al-Furqan means “The Criterion” — something that separates truth from falsehood. It begins by praising the Quran and the Messenger.
Key Messages:
- Quran is the Truth “Blessed is the One Who sent down the Criterion (Quran) to His servant…” (25:1)
- The Quran is a clear message for mankind.
- Disbelievers’ Complaints
- They mocked the Prophet ﷺ, saying he was just a man.
- They demanded miracles, not understanding that the Quran itself is the greatest miracle.
- Prophet is a Human, But Chosen by Allah
- He eats, walks in markets — but his message is divine.
- His character and wisdom are proofs of his Prophethood.
