Surah Al-A’raf (Verses 1–87)
Surah Al-A’raf is a Makki Surah, revealed in Makkah, and it focuses on the struggles between truth and falsehood throughout human history. “Al-A’raf” means “The Heights,” which refers to a place between Jannah (Heaven) and Jahannam (Hell) on the Day of Judgment.
Main Themes and Stories
1. Quran is a Blessing – Follow It
“Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord…” (7:3)
Allah tells us to follow the Quran and not to follow desires or false leaders.
2. Story of Prophet Adam (A.S.) and Iblees
- Allah created Adam (A.S.) and honored him.
- Iblees (Shaitan) refused to bow to Adam and became proud.
- Iblees promised to mislead humans till the end of time.
Lesson: Always seek protection from Shaitan and don’t fall into pride or disobedience.
3. Clothing – A Blessing from Allah
- Allah gave us clothes to cover our bodies and look good.
- But the best clothing is Taqwa (piety and good behavior).
4. Day of Judgment – Heaven, Hell & Al-A’raf
- On the Day of Judgment, people will go to either Heaven or Hell.
- Some will be on Al-A’raf, between the two, waiting for Allah’s decision.
- People in Jannah will enjoy peace, while those in Hell will face punishment.
5. Stories of Prophets and Their People
- Prophet Nuh (A.S.) – His people denied him, so Allah sent a flood.
- Prophet Hud (A.S.) – His people, the Aad, rejected him and were destroyed.
- Prophet Salih (A.S.) – His people, the Thamud, denied the she-camel miracle and faced Allah’s punishment.
Each story shows:
